Hi guys! It’s been a really long time since I’ve shown my face around here. My name is Amanda and I am the one person crew behind Hive and Hide Leather Goods. Being a maker in this community has been such a rewarding experience. I started out in 2018 teaching myself how to make small leather goods as a hobby via YouTube videos and reaching out to other makers to learn techniques. Since then Hive and Hide has turned into a nice little side business and I hope it never stops growing. This is what I want to be doing for the rest of my life and it fulfills me. If any makers ever need help or have questions I hope you don’t hesitate to reach out! It’s all about community. Outside of leather work I am an avid reader (books and comics), I love horror movies, I’m a dog mom, plant tender, and have a pretty killer husband that supports all of my endeavors. I am always open for custom work and you can even checkout my stuff in person @chicagomakerspopupshop in Bucktown.
